Disability Attorney Fees

There is no fee unless you win.

Social Security Administration sets the limit for how much an attorney can charge, which is no more than 25% of your back benefits upon a successful claim. There is no fee unless you receive benefits.  There are no upfront costs to hire a disability attorney.  In addition to 25% of your back benefits, an attorney may charge you for out-of-pocket expenses for collection of medical records, court filing fees, or evaluations.  You are also responsible for payment of gross receipts taxes on attorney fees at the current rate.

When fees are paid

Attorney fees are calculated and paid by Social Security from your back benefits.  After you receive a favorable determination, Social Security provides an award letter.  The notice of award explains all your benefits,  and the amount of 25% that is withheld to pay attorney fees.  Social Security can take several months to pay you and your attorney.

When costs are due

Out-of-pocket costs are due once attorney fees have been calculated.  These costs include the costs of obtaining medical records, evaluations, and reports, and gross receipts tax on the attorney fees received.  Once the fees have been determined, you will receive an invoice to pay these costs. Payment is appreciated within 30 days, and payment plans are available to those who inquire.

How to pay

We provide many options to pay securely online with a credit card, debit card, or bank card.  You may also mail or drop by a check or money order.  Cash is accepted in person during business hours.  There is a link to pay in the banner above.

Supplemental Estate Planning Tools

We provide additional planning tools that may be added-on to a will-based or trust-based plan, or selected as a stand-alone service.

Paying For Your Plan

You can choose a payment plan that works for you.  Some clients pay half upfront, and half at signing.  Some clients pay a small portion monthly.  If you stretch out your payments, it will take longer to complete your plan.  You will not receive the final documents to sign until all payments are made.  A longer payment plan creates a risk that something might happen to you before your plan is complete.

We recognize the tremendous need for estate planning.  No on wants to pay more than they have to and everyone wants the best value for their money.

We understand that hiring an attorney to prepare your estate plan is a investment.  The cost of an estate plan will be significantly less than the cost of not planning.  Most people pay less for an estate plan than a family vacation on a moderate budget.
